With over 20 years in the hair industry, Niklas Simon has dedicated his career to the art and science of hair coloring. His passion lies in creating customized, dimensional color and blondes that enhances each client’s natural beauty while staying in tune with current trends. Niklas Simon currently lives and works in Miami, Florida.

How do you currently promote your services to attract new clients? How do you create buzz and educate potential clients about what you’re offering?

Niklas Simon: Instagram is my main space for sharing my work and connecting with new clients, it’s like my digital portfolio. I use it to show real results, behind-the-scenes moments, tips, and transformations so people can get a feel for my style and what it’s like to sit in my chair. But honestly, word of mouth is still my most powerful tool. When someone leaves the salon feeling confident and glowing, they naturally spread the word and that kind of energy is priceless. I try to keep everything I share real, informative, and a little inspiring so potential clients not only see what I offer but feel what it’s like to be cared for in my space.

When working with high-profile clients, or for special events such as photo shoots or fashion shows, how do you leverage those experiences for PR purposes?

Niklas Simon: I don’t have a big list of celebrities, but I do work with a few VIP clients and I keep those relationships private out of respect. When I’m part of something special like a shoot or event, I’ll share subtle behind-the-scenes moments or the finished look to give a glimpse of the experience. It’s less about showing off and more about reflecting the level of care and detail I bring to every client, whether they’re in the spotlight or not.

Social media plays a big role in the beauty industry. Which recent viral hair or makeup trends have influenced content you created for your business?

Niklas Simon: Social media definitely plays a big role, but I don’t follow every trend just because it’s viral. I prefer to keep my content more unique and true to my brand. I create a mix of reels, posts, and carousels to share real transformations, education, and inspiration. If a trend aligns with my clients lifestyle like soft dimension, glassy finishes, or effortless styling I might incorporate it, but I always put my own spin on it.

What’s your approach to managing your online reputation, and how do you position yourself to stand out from other hair stylists/makeup artists in your area?

Niklas Simon: I manage my online reputation by showing up consistently with high-quality work, honest education, and genuine care for my clients. I’m not focused on being the loudest stylist, but the one people trust. What sets me apart is the calm, polished energy I bring, paired with years of technical experience in color. Clients come to me for results that feel both elevated and personal and that’s what I lead with, online and in person.

Looking forward, where do you see your promotional strategies taking your business within the next year?

Niklas Simon: Looking ahead, I see my promotional strategies helping me connect with more of the right clients the ones who truly value healthy, beautiful hair and a personalized experience. I plan to keep refining my content with a strong mix of reels, education, and storytelling that feels authentic to my brand. I’m also focusing more on building deeper client relationships through DMs and referrals, not just likes. The goal isn’t to go viral it’s to build a steady, loyal community that grows through trust and great results.

What creative project or achievement in your career as a hairdresser are you particularly proud of?

Niklas Simon: One achievement I’m especially proud of is building my business and loyal clientele over the last 9 years since moving from Berlin, Germany to Miami, Florida. That transition wasn’t easy, but it shaped me both creatively and professionally. Every day, I feel grateful for the clients I’ve connected with and the opportunities I’ve had to grow. Moments like a recent bold yet natural color transformation remind me why I love this work helping people feel confident and beautiful is what drives me.

If you could work with any team or on any project of your dreams, what would it be? For example, which celebrity, photographer, or magazine would you work with, and what would the creative concept be?

Niklas Simon: If I could choose any dream project, I’d love to collaborate with a creative team that values artistry and storytelling as much as I do maybe a shoot for a magazine like Vogue or Harper’s Bazaar with a visionary photographer known for bold, timeless work. Working with a celebrity who appreciates subtle, elevated beauty someone like Nicole Kidman or Anne Hathaway would be incredible. The concept would focus on natural elegance with a modern twist, highlighting texture, movement, and rich color that tells a story beyond just the surface. It’d be about creating looks that feel effortless yet unforgettable.
