TRADEL is a location-based marketplace for travellers. Its core is peer-to-peer: travellers can exchange or sell gear, offer services and help each other while on the road. A B2P layer lets local businesses and providers offer relevant services, activities and other travel-related listings in the same network.
For PR ON THE GO, founder Florian Müller shares the journey of building the travel tech startup.
Florian Müller: Our primary target is independent travellers, supported by local businesses and providers on the B2P side. We are currently building supply through direct provider outreach while preparing broader traveller acquisition through communities, content and the mobile launch.
Florian Müller: TRADEL is in an early MVP and pre-launch stage. The next milestones are growing useful P2P and business listings, launching the mobile apps, improving location-based discovery and building the first active traveller communities.
Florian Müller: Validation means travellers actively posting, discovering and responding to listings, while local providers see value in reaching them directly. Media coverage is useful for early trust and awareness, but real marketplace activity is the main validation.
Florian Müller: We use social media to explain the idea, show real use cases and position TRADEL around independent travel, resource sharing and helping each other on the road.

The marketplace itself should encourage travellers to exchange gear, skills, help and local knowledge.
Florian Müller: We would choose a brand trip. A small group of backpacking creators could travel through several destinations while using TRADEL to find gear, traveller-to-traveller help, local services and activities along the route. Creators such as Backpacking Bananas, One Pack Wanderers or Karl Watson would fit the concept well. Coverage from outlets such as PhocusWire, Skift, Lonely Planet or backpacker-focused media would be especially relevant.
Florian Müller: For us, community starts with people being useful to each other. TRADEL is built around travellers exchanging gear, offering services, sharing local knowledge and helping each other while on the road. We involve early travellers and local providers directly, listen to their feedback and let real use cases shape the platform. The goal is not just to build an audience, but a network where people actively contribute and benefit from each other.
